Everyone knows bicycles make you look good, and yesterday whilst we were checking out the MCA, one of ours was commandeered for just such a nifty little photo-op!!!!

Tokyo: heels & suits in rain & sunshine

Until we sort out transport issues in Australia, tourism will languish on the sidelines in a manner somewhat analogous to Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid as she loses her voice.

Notwithstanding the tendency for politicians to obfuscate about the necessary 'strategic plan,' the essential link between the 2 Ts [Tourism & Transport] is broken, and will remain so until 'Australian political will' provides for its repair.

Unquestionably, transport is both "key" to the problem and the solution.

...& unquestionably Tokyo has 'transport' worked out!

Nozawa Onsen: bicycles, trains....& onsens!!!

Despite being 'onsen-rookies', here in Nozawa Onsen we eschewed our bicycles for them...

...& now we're all soft, young and rejuvenated - in fact so much so we feel 20!!! (we wish!! - ha! ha!)

What a town - great people, great food...& great onsens!

Road users in Nagano are familiar with the concept of sharing, a notion yet to reach Australian motorists.

(maybe one day - we can only hope!!!)

"We bike Hakuba"

We loved the separated shared bicycle paths on roads between Hakuba Happone and Hakuba Goryu, and what fun we had with the markers & their whisper of adventure and bicycle trails.

はい (hai) one way or another, using a bicycle in Japan is completely normal and facillitated - why can't it be like this in Australia?

Shinkhansen etc: a far cry from City Rail etc
