Bus stops should be in a safe, convenient place to encourage public transportation as ultimately it will help clear up the congestion on the roads.Missourihttp://www.missouribusinc.com/used-inventory/index.htmnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3090991993980511979.post-46058563512858161542014-11-09T16:03:12.273+11:002014-11-09T16:03:12.273+11:00Sigh I so agree with you, Fonant, but here in Sydn...Sigh I so agree with you, Fonant, but here in Sydney our troglodyte politicians are doing everything in their capability (albeit their significantly limited one) to facilitate the passage of motorists throughout the city. That options for catching buses have now being reduced but hyped up with the 'improved services' tagline because they don't have to stop anywhere anymore is utterly sickening.

Poiticians, engineers and developers very bad for urban developmentFreedom Cyclisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11187400454555241935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3090991993980511979.post-91794830470050234712014-11-08T04:06:56.312+11:002014-11-08T04:06:56.312+11:00The fundamental problem with urban transport is th...The fundamental problem with urban transport is that private motor vehicles are the most inefficient way to get people around in towns and cities. Especially when each vehicle, weighing over a tonne and taking up a lot of space, typically only transports a single person.

Yes, private cars do give us the potential to make our own specific journeys at our own specific times, but the advantage soon breaks down when the inevitable congestion hits. Focussing on efficient modes of transport, such as walking and cycling and buses and trains, is a much better idea for a liveable urban environment which is easy for everyone to move around in.

Keep the cars, but use them in moderation for trips that really need them. Using a car for every trip is highly inefficient and wasteful.

The only way to provide for more private motor vehicles is to keep building more motor roads. But then you end up with a dead, noisy, polluted city like Detroit, which people can't wait to move away from.Fonanthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02138087859465124942noreply@blogger.com
