Yes it's extremely problemat...Chin up, girl!!!<br /><br />Yes it's extremely problematic that funding for research into bicycle helmets and bicycle helmet legislation comes from governments which passed the legislation in the first place, and yes we can be forgiven for thinking that recent studies have been a knee-jerk reaction to all the pressure that's been placed upon various governments across the country to repeal these laws...<br /><br />...but methinks this points to the fact that we're all obviously being quite effective in our helmet law repealing quest!!! - go us!!!!!Freedom Cyclisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11187400454555241935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3090991993980511979.post-13212548082342065212013-03-26T08:35:31.733+11:002013-03-26T08:35:31.733+11:00It is frustrating writing to State Transport Depar...It is frustrating writing to State Transport Departments on the topic of research. They reply with the 1 or 2 research papers which have been produced entirely for the purpose of supporting helmet laws.I think the term for these papers is 'policy driven research'. But they could also be called propaganda. They pretend that no critiques or rejoinders to these papers have ever been produced. The bulk of the research does not support our helmet laws and yet it is as though this other research does not exist in Australia.<br />I feel saddened that the scientific credibility of my country has been so compromised by this issue.
